Youth AI Ethics & Education Study

I served as a lead data analyst for this research project that studied the way youth interacted with systems of artificial intelligence. In this study, youth participated in a two day workshop where they were educated on the harms and impacts that AI systems can have on marginalized individuals and communities. Participants were then tasked with detailing an AI scenario using MPower, a digital tool created for this study that scaffolded the AI scenarios. Following this step, I analyzed which scenarios and stakeholders participants detailed, juxtaposed with their personal identities as well as how they perceived them.

During my time as Research Assistant Intern on this study, I served as the main researcher and progressor of the project. I was responsible for the productivity of the project and the integrity of the data throughout the analysis that I conducted. My work here required an extreme attention to detail, thorough organization, and committing 8-9 hours per week.
